COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Just like in most areas of the State of Michigan, the percentage of new COVID-19 cases in Branch County has dropped in the past week according to the latest figures from the Department of Health and Human Services.
Between April 20 and 26, the percentage of new positive cases in Branch County was at 12-point-4 percent compared to 17-point-7 percent during the previous week.
The number of new Branch County COVID-19 cases during a seven day period has also dropped from 155 between April 14 and 20 to 99 from April 21 to Tuesday.
The recent surge of COVID-19 cases has also resulted in more deaths in connection to the virus.
The Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency reported on Tuesday that 94 persons including seven since March 29 have died in Branch County after testing positive for the virus.
On line appointments for COVID-19 vaccines are available at www.bhsj.org for clinics on Wednesday at Hillsdale High School, on Thursday at the Bethel Baptist Recreation and Learning Center in Three Rivers and on Friday at the Dearth Community Center in Coldwater.
