CONCORD, MI (WTVB) – With the Union City track teams still in COVID-19 quarantine, the Union City Track Invitational was moved from Alumni Field to Concord on Friday night.
The Quincy Girls Team won their second invitational title of the season thanks to a strong performance in the field events as they finished first with 151 points. Athens was second with 87 points followed by Mendon with 61 points. Bronson finished fifth.
Quincy winners in the running events were Nikkia Cronk in the 100 (13.69) and Molly Butchart in the 3200 (15:35.01). Quincy’s team of Cronk, Abigail Harmon, Raigen Horsfall and Emily Snell won the 400 relay.
Quincy won three out of the four field events. Oriole winners were Harman in the high jump (five feet) and Sophia Snellenberger in both the discus (114 feet, three inches) and the shot put (35 feet, two inches).
Jenna Salek of Bronson won the 200 (26.79) and the 400 (1:00.57).
Concord won the boys meet with 171 points. Quincy was second with 117 1/2 points followed by Reading with 89. Bronson was eighth.
Quincy winners were Rhett Reif in the 3200 (10:41.97) and Ethan Hollister in the long jump (18 feet, 11 1/2 inches)
