HOMER, MI (WTVB) – The Bronson Vikings girls softball team improved to 10-0 in the Big 8 Conference and 18-5 overall as they swept a doubleheader at Homer on Tuesday by scores of 10-3 and 10-0.
Bronson’s Lynsey Smith struck out 14 batters to earn the win in the opening game. Eight Bronson batters collected at least one hit. Addison Harris had two doubles. She along with Jaydn Cary and Dekoda Kline all drove in two runs. Maddie Ratkowski, Kline and Caitlyn Hagen all had two hits.
Harris was the winning in the second game as she tossed a two hit shutout and struck out five. Kline and Haylie Wilson both homered. Kline also had three RBI’s. Cary, Kline and Karissa Gest all had two hits.
Bronson Coach Becky Grey said, “Happy we could come away with 2 league wins tonight. I felt we got great pitching out of both of our pitchers and defense played well behind them. We also were able to hit the ball consistently.”
The Vikings play on Saturday at the Jenison Invitational.
