BATTLE CREEK, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater High School girls varsity soccer team closed out the regular season portion of their Interstate 8 Conference schedule with a 2-1 loss at Harper Creek Thursday.
Harper Creek scored the opening goal with 17:01 to play in the first half. Coldwater then got on the scoreboard with 32:20 to play in the game on a goal from Masyn Marsh, assisted by Cara Miller.
The Beavers got the winning goal with 6:24 to play in the game, as Coldwater fell to 1-6 in conference play and 4-9 overall. Taylor Robison made six saves in goal as Coldwater outshot Harper Creek 11-10.
The Lady Cardinals will host Quincy for the annual “Battle of the Birds” Monday at 6:30 p.m., then will begin Interstate 8 Conference Silver Division tournament play Wednesday.
Also in girls soccer Thursday, Bronson lost to Schoolcraft 10-1, and Quincy fell at home to Springport 9-1.
The Coldwater junior varsity team plays at Parma Western Friday afternoon.
