BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – After putting up with chilly conditions throughout most of the spring, the weather heated up for both the Coldwater and Bronson tennis teams on Thursday in the M.H.S.A.A. district tournaments.
Coldwater scored four points and finished in a tie for eighth at the Division Two districts hosted by Mason.
Jillian Hawver won her opening round match at number two singles.
Emma Madden also scored a win for the Cardinals in the opening round at number three singles.
Urja Patel got a point for the Cardinals with a opening round win at number four singles.
Coldwater’s number one doubles team of Laynee Paarlberg and Ally Aker got the fourth point for Coldwater with a win in the first round.
Bronson got one point and tied for sixth in the Division Four Districts hosted by Hillsdale. Kennedy Outwater was the second seed at number one singles and won her quarterfinal match in straight sets before getting knocked out in the semifinals.
