EAST LANSING, MI — An advisory panel studying how to manage the COVID-19 pandemic at Michigan State University supports the idea of a vaccination requirement on campus.
The vote to support such a mandate passed overwhelmingly on Tuesday with 89-percent approval. Michigan State is one of several colleges and universities in Michigan that does not have a policy mandating vaccinations among its students.
The recommendation now goes to President Samuel Stanley Junior for his consideration. The vaccine mandate would cover students living on campus in dorms and taking classes on the East Lansing campus.
