COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A tree that fell into some wires at Pearl and Jefferson late Thursday night led to power outages in parts of Coldwater overnight.
Coldwater B.P.U. crews worked throughout the night trying to get the power back on safely as they had to untangle the tree and the wires. The wet and blustery weather also made restoration efforts more difficult.
The power was restored just after 8:00 a.m..
Among the locations without power was the Branch County Courthouse. Employees had already been told to report to work at 10:00 a.m. when the power came back on.
C.B.P.U. Director Jeff Budd said less than 100 customers were directly affected. The number of outages got up to near 500 as circuits had to be turned off during the restoration effort.
No Consumers Energy customers were affected.
