COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – 14 industrial customers on Race Street between Butters Avenue and Jay Streets on Coldwater’s southwest side lost power Wednesday evening.
Coldwater Board of Public Utilities Director Jeff Budd said a truck apparently hooked CBPU power lines and two poles were broken.
The outage was reported at about 4:50 p.m. and was dispatched as a hit-and-run accident. Coldwater Police are investigating.
The Coldwater Fire Department was also sent to the scene.

Crews from the City of Marshall were called for mutual aid. It took crews almost 7 1/2 hours to make the necessary repairs. They were hampered by a steady rain which fell on Wednesday evening. The power was restored at about 12:30 a.m. on Thursday morning.
