BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – All of the Branch County baseball and girls softball teams will be competing for M.H.S.A.A. district championships on Saturday.
In baseball, Coldwater will face the host Pennfield Panthers in the Division Two districts semifinals at 10:00 a.m.. The winner will take on either Marshall or Hillsdale for the district title.
The Cardinals are 23-11 after they lost to Tecumseh 3-1 in the first game of a scheduled doubleheader on Wednesday. The second game was stopped by rain in the second inning with Tecumseh leading 7-0.
Bronson will face Union City in the Division Three district semifinals at Climax-Scotts at 11:00 a.m. with the winner playing either Galesburg-Augusta or Climax-Scotts in the finals.
Quincy will play Hanover-Horton in the Division Three district semifinals at Homer starting at 12:30 p.m.. The winner will face either Jackson Lumen Christi or Jonesville in the finals.
In girls softball, Coldwater will take a 18-17 record into the Division Two district semifinals at Harper Creek against Vicksburg which will start at 12:00 noon. The winner plays either Marshall or Harper Creek in the finals.
Quincy will face Hillsdale at 10:00 a.m. Saturday morning in the Division Three district semifinals at Homer. The winner plays either Hanover-Horton or Jonesville for the district title.
Bronson is hosting a Division Three District tournament. The Vikings will face Centreville at 10:00 a.m. in the first semifinal. The winner plays either Constantine or Buchanan in the finals.
Union City will take on Delton-Kellogg at 11:00 a.m. in the Division Three District semifinals at Climax-Scotts with the winner playing either the host school or Galesburg-Augusta in the finals.
