COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater’s Jett Galloway qualified for the M.H.S.A.A. Boys Golf Division Two State Finals as an individual on Thursday while the Cardinals finished in a tie for eighth in the 18 team regional meet hosted by the Coldwater Golf Course.
Galloway finished in sixth place overall as he fired a 80 which was the third lowest score among the players who were not on the three teams who moved onto the State Finals.
Coldwater recorded their lowest team score of the season for 18 holes with a 355 which tied them with Vicksburg for eighth place.
Besides Galloway’s round of 80, Talan Eberts fired a 85, Kyle Sheppard carded a 87, Brady Arver had a 103 and Steven Covell had a 108.
Gull Lake won the regional title with a score of 321. They along with St. Joseph and Stevensville-Lakeshore advanced to the State Finals by finishing as the top three teams. Lakeshore edged Marshall by two shots for the final spot. Two Red Hawks will join Galloway as individuals at the State Finals as Collin McLane fired a 73 and Harrison Chapman had a 74.
Ryan Guzzo of St. Joseph was the regional medalist with an even par 72.
The Division Two State Finals will be held next Friday and Saturday at Bedford Valley Golf Club in Battle Creek.
