COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A total of 203 Coldwater High School seniors received their diplomas and stepped into the real world on Sunday evening during the 2021 Commencement ceremony at Cardinal Field.
Graduation returned to the Coldwater High School campus after the 2020 ceremony had to be moved to the Capri Drive In due to limitations at the time from the State of Michigan on how many people could be outside at a school event at one time.
The Class of 2021 was the 154th graduating class from Coldwater High School. Their senior year was unlike any other because of the COVID-19 pandemic which forced classes to be taught virtually at times.
The Coldwater High School Class of 2021 Co-Valedictorians were Tate Hostetler and Kelly Warner while Kyler Galena is the Salutatorian.
Class Secretary Alyssa Bach said she was extremely proud of her classmates for their perseverance and dedication during this past school year.
Class President Kelly Warner expressed her thanks to all of Coldwater Community School staff members.
Mia Rzepka was recognized as the winner of the John Vance Award. The award is named after the 1975 Coldwater High School graduate who was an athlete, student leader and honor student. Vance died from cancer in 1982.
