Julie Mary Young, 89, of Coldwater passed away Saturday, July 03, 2021 at Maple Lawn.
In following her wishes, cremation has taken place and a private burial will take place at a later date in Oak Grove Cemetery. The family was cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home.
Julie was born July 17, 1931 to Stanley and Mary (Grubka) Makowski in Vicksburg, MI. She was a pioneer in Branch County for being the first woman real estate agent, later becoming a broker and serving on the Board of Realtors. Julie was first married to Frank Lowe and they had two sons. She later married Charles Young on December 31, 1973. He preceded her in death on January 9, 2007.
Julie had many interests, but watching baseball was high on her to do list. She also enjoyed pets, especially cats, and birdwatching. Julie was beloved by all she came into contact with, either through her real estate career or her extensive group of friends. Julie will be remembered for her kind spirit. She will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her.
Mrs. Young is survived by her sons Jefferson “Jeff” Young of Ann Arbor and Gregory “Greg” (Haunlan Yi) Lowe of Canton; her brother Stanley Markowski, Jr. of Vicksburg. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband Frank Lowe; and her second husband Charles “Chuck” Young.
Memorials may be directed to the Branch County Humane Society.
