COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Sanitary sewer line work began Monday morning, ahead of a massive resurfacing project that will stretch from Western Avenue on the west to Michigan Avenue on the east in the City of Coldwater.

Barricades are set up to totally block traffic on either side of the U.S. 12 and Jay Street intersection, where the sewer line work is being done. Because of the detour routes, the Michigan Department of Transportation extended the U.S. 12 closing from Western Avenue to Division Street, as the city’s Four Corner. Traffic will be detoured onto Butters Avenue, Garfield Road, and Division Street. Many are also using Pearl Street as a detour route.

Besides resurfacing, the $1.4 million project includes the sanitary sewer repairs, sidewalk ramp upgrades, and pavement markings.
