Michael “Mike” Jerry Helm, passed away Thursday, July 8, 2021 at home surrounded by his family.
Per Mike’s wishes, cremation has taken place and only a private gathering of family to celebrate Mike’s life will take place at a later date.
Arrangements are being handled be Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Quincy.
Mike was born on February 13, 1952 to Max Joseph and Jane I (Hanson) Helm in Sidney, Nebraska. He attended Litchfield Schools, graduating in 1970. Mike was employed by Midwest Foundry for over 20 years and retired from Kasco Abrasives in 2017.
Mike is survived by his wife of 32 years, Susan (Ewers) Helm, his son, Matt (Shanna) Helm, his daughter, Mary (Ryan) Martin, his step sons, Thomas (Krista Ressler) Foley and Jonathon (Rachel) Foley. Also surviving Mike are 10 grandchildren, sister, Darlene (Terry) Wade, mother-in-law, Florence Ewers, brothers-in-law, Jeffrey (Melissa) Ewers and James Ewers, sisters-in-law, Amy (David) Howell and Diana Helm, as well as many nieces and nephews and former wife, Marilyn (Flint) Helm.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Jeffrey Helm, father-in-law, Wier Ewers and granddaughter, Kesha Leann Foley Ressler.
Because of Mike’s love of animals, donations in his memory are suggested to Erin’s Angels Rescue, 498 Ridge Road, Quincy, MI 49082.
