COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Under terms of an order from the Centers for Disease Control, face masks are required for those who take public transportation.
Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency Health Officer Rebecca Burns told the Agency’s Board of Health on Thursday that order includes school buses.
She said the health department was recently asked for clarification on school buses and masks.
The information is being shared with the I.S.D. Superintendents so that they can forward it onto District Superintendents.
Burns also expressed her concerns about schools in the three counties they serve which will have limited mitigation strategies in place when classes resume to prevent COVID-19 transmission.
Burns also reported the Health Agency is providing almost daily vaccination opportunities in the tri-county area during the MI Shot to Win sweepstakes and they are encouraging individuals to enter after they have received their first dose. Vaccine appointments can be scheduled at www.bhsj.org/scheduling.
