Robert Theodore “Bob” George, 57, of Union City passed away unexpectedly on July 19th, 2021.
In keeping with Bob’s wishes, he will be cremated and there will be a public celebration of his life at the Burlington Park on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at 3:00 PM.
Bob was born on June 24, 1964 in Battle Creek, Michigan to James E. and Karen M. (Smith) George. He attended Union City Schools and lived in the area all his life. Bob was a Boilermaker for 35 years for the Boilermakers Local 169. He enjoyed woodworking and fishing, amongst many other things. You could often find Bob making the sturdiest of furniture, or catching the biggest haul of fish. He loved the outdoors and for years had been talking about the River Run trip he so wished he had the time to take.
Bob had a personality that could catch your attention from across the room, whether the reason he caught your attention was because he was being loud and strapping or soft and huggable, you noticed. He was a caring man and was often found helping people out. He lived on the edge and never strayed from a good time.
He is survived by three children: Jessica Dunithan of Battle Creek, Amber George and James R. George, both of Union City; his father, James E. George, and stepmother, Barbara J. George, of Union City; a brother, Scott George, of Union City; a sister, Debra George, of Union City; two grandchildren, Ryleigh and Jenner Dunithan of Battle Creek; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his mother, Karen Smith, and stepson, Joel A. Lincoln.
