PARMA TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – A Hillsdale woman was killed Saturday night when a wrong way vehicle struck four other vehicles on I-94 in Jackson County.
Michigan State Police are investigating the crash which took the life of Erica Kas.
Troopers say it happened at about 7:49 p.m..
Jackson County Central Dispatch began receiving numerous calls about five minutes later of a multi-vehicle collision near mile marker 135.
A preliminary investigation revealed that a westbound vehicle was in the eastbound lanes.
Lifesaving efforts performed by first responders on the scene were unsuccessful in saving Kas’ life and she was pronounced deceased on the scene.
Several other persons involved in the collision were transported to Henry Ford Allegiance Hospital for various levels of treatment.
According to the State Police, alcohol is believed to have been a factor in the crash
