COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Statistics posted by the Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency on their web site Tuesday show that the sudden surge of COVID-19 cases in Branch County is continuing.
The Community Health Agency says there were 17 new COVID-19 cases in Branch County on Tuesday after 10 cases were reported on Monday.
A total of 68 new Branch County cases were reported between July 19 and this past Sunday. That is almost as many new Branch County cases reported between June 25 and July 18 when 75 cases were reported during that three week span.
While there has been a surge over the last week in the Branch County numbers, the numbers are not as bad in the two other counties served by the Community Health Agency.
There have only been five new cases reported this week in Hillsdale County after there were 21 last week.
Nine new cases have been recorded during the last two days in St. Joseph County after there were only 12 last week.
Since the COVID-19 pandemic began in March of 2020, the Community Health Agency says there have been 4,634 cases in Branch County with 97 deaths attributed to the virus.
