COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The City of Coldwater has posted a video about a section of Waterworks Park that has been closed for restoration work on its Facebook page.
The video features City of Coldwater Marketing Coordinator Abbey Hoffman and Coldwater B.P.U. Water and Water Resource Recovery Facility Superintendent Brian Musselman.
A section of the park has been closed after city officials say it’s been devastated by natural forces and improper parking.
B.P.U. Director Jeff Budd says it’s expected this section of Waterworks Park will be closed until the fall.
Musselman told the B.P.U. Board of Directors on Wednesday part of their plan is to remove the road along the river and put in a walking path.
He added they are looking at a number of parking options. Musselman said there are a lot of things they would like do that are in the planning stages.
In the meantime, signs and fences have been placed throughout the area to protect newly planted items as they take root.
This is the road they closed when they planted the “wild flowers” and promised to reopen but never did. Many of us loved taking a few minutes out of our hectic day to take a slow drive along that river.
Another day, another promise broken by the City of Coldwater.
Just leave the damned road open
