COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater BPU Director Jeff Budd says at the peak of Wednesday’s outages, they had roughly 345 customers without power over several areas.
Budd says the outages were primarily the areas south of the water plant, the Branch County Fairgrounds, and Tall Grass.
There were also outages west of the Willows and Union City Road from south of Narrows Road to the Waffle Farm Campground. There were a few random outages in town as well. The majority of these outages were restored before 6:00 p.m.
The most severe damage was on Union City Road, but as of 9:00 p.m. all but eight customers on have been restored.
Those eight customers were on Leonard Drive off Union City Road where a pole had to be replaced.
Budd says the Coldwater BPU called in mutual aid from Hillsdale and Marshall which expedited the restoration process.
They also received assistance from the Branch County Road Commission and the Branch County Sheriff’s Department which assisted with traffic control.
