COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A frustrated Branch County Sheriff John Pollack called out drivers during Tuesday’s Branch County Board of Commissioners work meeting who disregarded the “Road Closed” barricades that were put up following last Thursday’s devastating storm.
Numerous roads were blocked by fallen trees and downed power lines.
Pollack told Commissioners all service and safety agencies complained about the drivers who disobeyed the signs.
The Sheriff added these drivers did not have any regard for private property which was damaged by their actions.
Pollack says the barricades are in place for a reason and even though you may not see the problem, they are there for your safety. The Sheriff said they were sorry for the inconvenience but he reminds drivers if you come up on a Road Closed barricade, just turn around and seek an alternate route.
Unfortunately, we live on a dead end road and didn’t have an alternative route toget out for food, ice, and medicine.
