OVID TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – Jeff O’Dell has taken over as the new Ovid Township Supervisor.
The Ovid Township Board of Trustees appointed him to the position during a special meeting last Friday afternoon.
O’Dell is a retired police officer who lives on Little Rose Lake.
O’Dell takes over from Greg Gemmell who resigned because he felt he “screwed up” his handling of a controversial political sign on Pearl Road.
Supervisor duties in Ovid Township include the handling of ordinance violations as well as moderating Board and Annual meetings and developing the township budget.
The supervisor is also a member of the Branch County Supervisors Association and has a seat on the Marble-Coldwater Lake Board.
