ANGOLA, IN (WTVB) – Two of the suspects arrested last weekend in connection with numerous burglaries and auto thefts at the Clear Lake Storage Garages have been formally charged with 15 felony counts each by the Steuben County Prosecutors Office.
Steuben County Sheriff Rodney Robinson says in a news release issued by his department that 21-year-old Ryan J. Damron and 32-year-old Devin K. Hill are facing multiple counts of Burglary to a Structure.
The crimes at the storage garages south of Clear Lake on State Road 120 were discovered last Saturday morning.
Arrest warrants were issued on Thursday by the Steuben County Superior Court. Robinson says both Damron and Hill remain held in the Hillsdale County Jail on Michigan charges related to the Steuben County case.
Damron is being held in lieu of a $215,000 bond and Hill is being held in lieu of a $35,000 bond.
Both suspects will be extradited back to Steuben County in the near future to face the Indiana charges.
Robinson says the investigation is ongoing by the Sheriff’s Office and additional criminal charges may be sought.
He adds that at this time, there is nothing to indicate that there is any connection between the Clear Lake Storage Garage burglaries and the rash of thefts that have taken place in the Lake George and Long Beach Lake areas at the end of July. That investigation is still ongoing and has been connected to other thefts that took place in the Crooked Lake area around the same time.
