QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – After their meeting was postponed last week in the aftermath of three storms between August 6 and 12, the Quincy Village Council went over several storm-related items Tuesday night.
A power outage on the morning of August 12 affected the Quincy Water Tower and Village Manager Brittany Butler said the amount of water in the tower went down in a hurry.
Butler said everything was back up to snuff since that morning. Citizens were initially told to limit their consumption of water. Consumers Energy eventually procured and delivered a generator for the water tower. They also delivered bottled water and ice for distribution.
Butler also indicated budget funds will have to be moved around to help pay for the storm damage.
One of the bills approved by the Council was for over $27,000 for emergency storm damage clean up. Butler said the bill also covers nearly two dozen trees which still have to be taken down.
