QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – Another series of storms rumbled through lower Michigan late Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning which led to nearly 62,000 Consumers Energy customers losing their power.
Mount Pleasant, Midland and Saginaw were the hardest hit areas but there were outages reported in Branch and Calhoun Counties.
The lights went out north of Matteson Lake and once again in the Marble Lake area.
While the power at Matteson Lake has been restored, Consumer’s Energy is estimating the Marble Lake outage will last until mid afternoon.
As of 9:00 a.m., there were nearly 37,000 Consumer’s Energy customers without power including nearly 2,700 in Calhoun County.
The M.S.U. Extension Service weather station at the Bloom Dairy Farm measured 58-hundredths of an inch of rain between 10:00 p.m. and midnight on Tuesday night as heavy rain fell during that time.
Northwest winds gusting up to 30 miles an hour were recorded at the Branch County Memorial Airport which led to the temperature dropping from 82 degrees at 9:15 p.m. to 71 degrees at 10:15 p.m..
