COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Ken Delaney was named Citizen of the Year during the 68th Annual Coldwater Area Chamber of Commerce Awards dinner which was held at the Ponds Thursday night.
Coldwater High School’s Ryan Scheetz was presented with the Educator of the Year award.
The Business of the Year award was presented to Graphics 3.
Other awards went to the Branch Area Food Pantry for Outstanding Public Servant and to the Coach Eby Youth and Family Center for having the Outstanding Community Program.
The annual event has been held in recent years at the Dearth Community Center during the month of March. But protocols in association with the COVID-19 pandemic that were in still in place last March forced organizers to make some changes which included moving the program to August.
The event also marked the official leadership transition for the chamber board with Randy Sowles, who is the Assistant Superintendent of Career and Technical Education at the Branch Area Career Center, taking over as Board President from Dannielle McRae of Lilah’s Bridal. Denbrock Insurance Agency Owner Phyllis Denbrock is serving as the Board Vice-President.
