PAW PAW MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The State Police post in Paw Paw is looking for volunteers for its Angel Program.
The program, which is statewide, allows someone suffering with addiction to walk into any post and request help without fear of being arrested or investigated.
Angel Program volunteers help troopers find the right treatment option, and also transport the person to that location.
Training will begin in September.
Those who apply and successfully complete training will receive mileage reimbursement, meal expenses, and after 20 hours, will get an hourly stipend.
Those interested in learning more about the MSP Angel program or becoming an “Angel” volunteer are asked to contact the Paw Paw Post at 269-657-5551 (F/Lt. Scott Ernstes) or visit www.michigan.gov/AngelProgram.
