LANSING, MI (WTVB) – Riath Shaamala had three goals as the Coldwater High School boys varsity soccer team increased its unbeaten streak to 12 games with a 6-0 win at Lansing Waverly Saturday.
Muthana Hajaji, Romero Saintvil, and Abdulhamid Munassar also scored as the Cardinals improved their record to 12-1-1 on the season.
Munassar also had two assists, with one each from Ali Ahmed, Abed Talius, and Johan Aburto.
Jensley Norvilus and Mackenson Berry split time in goal, with Berry making two saves. Coldwater outshot Waverly 20-3.
The junior varsity team beat Waverly 2-0. They will host the Hillsdale Academy JV team Monday at 5:00 p.m., followed by Bronson against Stockbridge
The Coldwater JV and varsity teams will host Mattawan Thursday for Teacher Appreciation Night.
The MHSAA Sunday announced the post-season District round matchups. Coldwater is the top seed in their District and will play the winner of the Gull Lake-Battle Creek Central in the semifinals October 20.
