UNION CITY, MI (WTVB) – Three Union City championship teams will be honored on September 17 during the Chargers Team of Fame game against Reading.
The 1991 Union City Boys Track Team will be honored on the 30th Anniversary of their undefeated season. They became the first Charger Boys Track Team to win the Big Eight and Regional Titles.
Also being honored are the 1970 Union City Football Team and the Chargers 1971 Baseball team.
The 1970 football team was intended to be honored last year on the 50th anniversary of their undefeated season but the ceremony had to be called off because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The 1971 baseball team went 17-0 and won conference and district championships.
There will be tailgating for team members and their families as well as an introduction of the teams during half time.
