Andrea Ellen “Rusty” Savage, 72, of Coldwater, passed away Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at Lockwood Community Church with Pastor Shayne Looper officiating.
Visitation will be held just prior to the funeral, from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m., also Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at Lockwood Community Church.
Andrea was born March 6, 1949 in Chicago, IL to Andrew and Frances (Gray) Savage. The family moved to California when she was a child and she graduated from Orange High School in 1967. Andrea traveled to and lived in many places, including Oregon, Arizona, Colorado and Hawaii. In 1989 she relocated to Steuben County, IN and then moved to Michigan in 1995, where she had lived since.
Andrea was very outgoing and adventurous. She always did things her way, but when you met her, she was your friend. She liked helping others. Andrea was a bartender and waitress at many different establishments over the years. Most recently she was a banquet planner at Firekeeper’s Casino in Battle Creek.
She attended Lockwood Community Church in Coldwater.
Andrea is survived by her children, Deanna Savage of Anaheim, CA, Tracey Smith of Oneida, NY, Leslie (Kevin) Levenduski of Angola, IN and James (Heather) Vogt of Yale, OK; her grandchildren, Andrew Smith of Angola, IN, Jonathan Shockey of Tigard, OR and Christean Calderia of Cornelius, OR; a great-grandchild Kaydee Marie Ann Walters of Defiance, OH; a sister, Rev. Elizabeth Ann Savage of Flagstaff, AZ; and her close friend and roommate, Miss Gini Toth of Coldwater;
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Nelson “Rick” Beaverson (2018).
