BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – All of the Branch County high school football teams will be on the road Friday night as the 2021 season gets to week number three.
The Coldwater Cardinals will be looking for their first win of the season as they will play at Pennfield in an Interstate 8 contest. The Panthers are 2-0 with wins over Lake Odessa Lakewood and Marshall. The two teams did not play each other last year in Coldwater due to the late start of the 2020 season. Coldwater has won five out of the last six games since 2014.
Game time is 7:00 p.m.. Coverage on AM 1590 and FM 95.5 WTVB starts at 6:30 p.m..
A long time rivalry game highlights the other Branch County action as the Quincy Orioles (0-2) travel to Reading to battle the Rangers. Reading (2-0) has won three straight against the Orioles and own a 36-29-1 edge against their arch rivals in 66 previous meetings.
Union City (1-1) will be looking for their second straight win as they will play their third straight road game at Jonesville (2-0).
Bronson (1-1) has a non-conference game at Michigan Center.
In 8-person football, Tekonsha (1-1) will be at Climax-Scotts.
