BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Cardinals return home on Friday night for their Purple Week game against Jackson Northwest.
Friday will be the football team’s turn to help raise money in the fight against cancer.
At 1-2 overall, the Cardinals will be looking to get to the .500 mark. They are 1-1 in the Interstate 8. Northwest is also 1-2 overall and 0-2 in the I-8.
Coldwater will be trying to extend their winning streak over the Mounties to eight games. The Cardinals have won 10 of the previous 11 meetings.

In other Branch County high school football action on Friday night, Union City (1-2) will host Reading (3-0) in the Chargers’ Team of Fame game. The Rangers were ranked fourth in Division Eight in this week’s Michigan Associated Press High School Football poll.
Quincy (0-3) will be at Homer (1-2).
In 8-player football, it’s Homecoming night for Tekonsha as they will host Litchfield.
In a varsity game that was moved back to Thursday night due to a lack of officials, Bronson had a rough night at home as they lost to Jonesville 50-0 in a Big 8 Conference game. The Vikings are now 1-3 overall and 0-2 in the Big 8.
