COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Girls Varsity Swim and Dive team held their Drown out Cancer meet Thursday night where they raised over $800 as part of Purple Games Week at Coldwater High School. The team members would like to say a special thank you to all who donated.
As for the meet, the Cardinals defeated the Sturgis Trojans 109-76. With the score tied after three events, the Lady Cards then took over, winning the four of the next five events.
Qualifying for Dive regionals, Charlotte Calhoun, broke the team record with a win in diving.
Also finishing with wins were Jillian McKinley in the 100 Butterfly and 100 Breaststroke, Randi Dudek in the 50 Freestyle and Legend Szafranski in the 500 Freestyle.
The relay team of Dudek, Anna DeMeester, McKinley and Masyn Marsh won the 200 Medley relay and the team of Kenna Stewart, Ayla McCowan, Marisa Roberts and Dudek won the 400 Freestyle relay.
The Lady Cards swim again next Tuesday at the Browne Aquatic Center where they will face Portage Central.
