BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – The heavy rain which started Tuesday night and did not end until mid afternoon on Thursday afternoon left behind fairly consistent rainfall totals of between three and four inches from throughout the area.
Your rain gauge maybe different but the Michigan State University Extension Service weather station at the Bloom Dairy Farm west of Coldwater measured three-point-63 inches of rain between Tuesday evening and 2:00 p.m. Thursday afternoon.
After a tenth of an inch was measured on Tuesday night, a total of 1.65 inches was measured at that location on Wednesday with another 1.88 inches measured on Thursday.
Rain was recorded at that weather station for 23 straight hours.
A National Weather Service observer near Osseo in Hillsdale County has measured over four inches of rain in the last three days.
Heavier amounts of rain were reported at several locations in Ohio. There was a report of 4.91 inches in Pioneer, Ohio while there were reports of over six inches of rain in Defiance, Swanton and Lima.
