HASTINGS, MI (WTVB) – The Legg Middle School seventh grade volleyball teams split their matches at Hastings on Tuesday night.
The A team lost 25-20, 26-27, 10-15. Legg was led at the service line by Juliana Cowles 15-15 with 6 aces followed by Katie Senyk 9=9 4 aces, Brooklyn Closson 9-13 3 aces, Khloe Wohlgamuth 4-4 1 ace, T.K. Boyd 6-9 3 aces, Camryn Cockrell 2-2 & Aubrey Gebbink & Khloe Tyler 2-3. In the backcourt, Cowles had 8 digs followed by Senyk 6 digs, Closson 5 digs, Boyd 4 digs, Gebbink 3 digs & Suri Stout & Isabella Angevine 2 digs each.
The B team fought back after losing the first set 20-25 to win the last two sets and the match 25-15 and 15-4. Leading the scoring for Legg was Ella Thompson serving 14/16 with 5 aces, Kinley Cummings 9/11 with 5 aces, Savannah Hayward 6/9 with 6 aces, Hailey Winkleman 5/7 with 4 aces, Annika Johnson 2/3 with 1ace, and Marie Powers with one kill.
