COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch-Hillsdale-St. Joseph Community Health Agency has announced they will be offering Pfizer vaccine booster doses to residents who previously received two doses of Pfizer vaccine in the coming weeks.
The boosters will be available to anyone who received the second Pfizer dose at least six months ago and are 65 or over.
Booster shots would also be available for those who have had two Pfizer vaccines if they are 18 or older with underlying medical conditions identified by the Centers for Disease Control or who lives or works in a high-risk setting.
Those who have received Moderna or Johnson & Johnson/Janssen shots should not seek a Pfizer booster dose. The FDA and CDC will be giving additional direction as to when those booster shots will be needed.
Medical Director Doctor Karen Luparello says the community will be notified when Moderna and J&J/Janssen booster doses are authorized.
The agency will be hosting larger scale community booster clinics in the coming weeks. To schedule your booster dose at one of the health agency’s local offices, go to www.bhsj.org/scheduling.
The clinics this week will be in Coldwater on Wednesday from 3:00 p.m.- 6:00 p.m., in Three Rivers on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., and on Saturday in Hillsdale from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 Noon.
