Throughout her life, Marilyn served the community in many ways. She worked for the University of Michigan Dental Research Team, the Branch District Library and was the secretary for the Branch County Fair. After her retirement, you could find her taking tickets at the amphitheater during fair week.

She was an active member of Lockwood Community Church where she taught Sunday school and was involved in the Bronson Child Study Club, Branch County Community Band and the Merry Mixers Square Dance Club. She served as a 4-H judge and was co-trustee of the Lucille Dearth Charitable Trust.
Marilyn enjoyed knitting, reading, playing the saxophone and dining out. She was a sports fan, rooting for the Detroit Tigers and the Michigan State teams and always looked forward to Fair week. Marilyn enjoyed collecting anything related to sheep, playing cards, dominos and BINGO but her greatest joy came from spending time with her family.
