BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – The City of Bronson has announced that crews will be flushing fire hydrants later this month.
The flushing will begin 12:01 a.m. Monday morning October 18th for the Northern section which is north of U.S. 12 and Tuesday morning October 19th at 12:01 a.m. for those south of U.S. 12.
The flushing of the fire hydrants is part of the routine cleaning of water mains.
The City apologizes for any inconveniences the flushing may cause. On occasion, the water in the areas of flushing may temporarily have a reddish/orange rusty appearance as flushing can disturb iron sediment in the water pipes and cause the discoloration. If this occurs, run your cold water at the tap closest to your water meter for several minutes to clear your lines.
The City of Bronson advises the public to refrain from doing laundry during the two days the flushing will be taking place.
