CHELSEA, MI (WTVB) – The season ended for the Coldwater Boys Tennis Team on Wednesday as they finished sixth at the Division Three Regional Tournament hosted by Chelsea High School.
The regional tournament was originally scheduled for Thursday but with the forecast calling for showers, it was moved back one day.
Fifth-ranked Chelsea won the regional on their home courts and advanced to the state finals. Parma Western also advanced to the state finals with a runner up finish.
Highlights on the day for the Cardinals included the advancement to the semifinals for number one singles player Kyle Sheppard and the number four doubles team of Lucas Wischmeyer and Claudel Wischmeyer.
The Cardinals finish the year with a 7-7-1 record. Sheppard made 1st Team All-Interstate Eight Conference for the second season in a row as he finished with a 14-7 record.
