COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Two more county employee reclassification requests have been submitted to Branch County Administrator Bud Norman.
One was from Interim 911 Director Jean Ratkowski to reclassify the Assistant 911 Directors position. Ratkowski says the position has stayed at the same level since 2006 but the responsibilities have increased and have become more demanding.
The other request was from Chief Public Defender Matt Glaser who wants the office administrator and legal assistant positions reclassified.
The deadline to submit requests for reclassification passed last week and Norman said during Thursday’s Board of Commissioners work session they have had nearly a dozen requests this year.
The amount of requests this year is more than normal and Norman says decisions have to be made by the end of the year.
Norman said the due date maybe moved up in the future because it seems like the number of requests are increasing each year.
The requests are reviewed by a three person committee of the Commissioners Personnel Chair, the Personnel Vice-chair and the Administrator. The County Commissioners make the final decision on reclassification requests.
