Harold L. Rurka, 84, of Quincy, passed away Sunday, October 10, 2021 at Maple Lawn Medical Care Facility in Coldwater.
Graveside services for Harold Rurka will be held Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at the Lakeview Cemetery in Quincy with Pastor Brad Parrish officiating.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Quincy.
He was born December 8, 1936 in Quincy to Frank and Bernice (Cornell) Rurka. He married Doris Tryon on June 7, 1963, and she survives.
Harold was a retired machinist for Simpson Industries in Litchfield where he was employed for over 40 years. During that time, he also drove school bus for Quincy Schools.
He was an avid outdoorsman and loved fishing, hunting and watching Westerns. He also enjoyed baseball and volunteering as a Little League coach in Quincy for 16 years.
Harold served his county in the US Army in Vietnam and was a former member of the Quincy American Legion.
Surviving besides his wife, Doris are his children, Bradley (Brenda) Rurka of Holland, MI, Rick Gardner of Coldwater and Karen (Tom) Clark of Coldwater; grandchildren, Danielle Gardner, Tyler Gardner, Corey Olds and Sheena Roland; 12 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Norman (Mike) Rurka of CA, Charles Rurka of CA, and Mary Rurka of Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Alice.
