COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The committee to appoint a new Branch County treasurer reviewed resumes from five applicants on Monday morning and selected two finalists.
The three person committee consisting of Branch County Clerk Terry Kubasiak, Prosecuting Attorney Zach Stempien and Probate Court Judge Kirk Kashian will hold interviews for the position on Friday morning with Debra Bracy of Quincy and Steven Rutz of Coldwater beginning at 9:00 a.m. in the boardroom at the Branch County Courthouse.
Julie Waterbury resigned as Branch County Treasurer effective on September 24 after accepting a position as the Chief Financial Officer with Grand Ledge Community Schools.
Waterbury had just been elected to the position in November of 2020.
The Treasurer position will be on the 2022 Primary Election ballot next August and on the November 2022 General Election ballot for a two year term expiring December 31, 2024.
