Susan “Sue” M. Mitchell, 59, of Battle Creek passed away Friday, October 8, 2021 at Colonial House West AFC in Marshall.
A memorial service celebrating the life of Sue will take place at 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 18, 2021 at Lighthouse Funeral & Cremation in Union City.
Visitation will be held one hour before the service from 12:00- 1:00 p.m. Interment will be at North Sherwood Cemetery at a later date.
Sue was born November 6, 1961 to Donald and Ruth (Parris) Mitchell in Battle Creek. She graduated from Battle Central High School with the Class of 1979. She shared 34 wonderful years with her life partner Gary Baker.
Sue enjoyed Jeopardy, crossword puzzles, going to casinos, fishing, riding bicycle, playing badminton, frisbee and horseshoes. She had a great love for people and would do anything to help. Along with her sister, Kerri, she would provide gifts for many families in need at Christmas time.
Surviving are her life partner Gary Baker of Battle Creek; a sister, Kerri Adkins of Union City; nephews, Chris (Brittney) Adkins, Brian Mitchell, John (Jen) Mitchell; a niece, Donna Fenton; and several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Johnny Mitchell; and a brother-in-law, Pat Adkins.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Kerri Adkins to help carry on Sue’s Christmas tradition of helping families in need.
