COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Debra Bracy of Quincy was chosen by a three person committee on Friday morning to become the new Branch County Treasurer.
She was one of two finalists to be interviewed. She has been offered the position but as of noon Friday, she had not accepted it.
The other finalist interviewed was Steven Rutz of Coldwater.
There were five applicants for the position which became open after Julie Waterbury resigned. Her resignation was effective on September 24 after she accepted a position as the Chief Financial Officer with Grand Ledge Community Schools.
The three person committee consisted of Branch County Clerk Terry Kubasiak, Prosecuting Attorney Zach Stempien and Probate Court Judge Kirk Kashian.
The Treasurer position will be on the Primary ballot in August 2022 and on the November General Election ballot for a two year term expiring December 31, 2024.
