UNION CITY, MI (WTVB) – The Village of Union City will begin picking up leaves this week and officials are asking residents for their co-operation to make sure the leaves are picked up without any issues.
Do not mix branches or sticks in with your leaves. This will prevent crews from being able to “vacuum” up your leaves and it could damage or clog their machine. The Village does not pick up branches, sticks or other items outside of leaves.
Do NOT rake leaves onto the roadway. Residents are asked to rake leaves to the curb or edge of the road.
Do not bag leaves. Simply rake them to the edge of the road.
Also, be patient. The village has 18 miles of road and only one truck.
The Village says they will get to all of the leaves before the last announced day of the year which is typically near the end of November.
