JONESVILLE, MI (WTVB) – Union City made it to the Gold Bracket semifinals of the Jonesville Invitational on Saturday before losing to Camden-Frontier 23-25, 25-11 and 15-7.
The tournament was held as a fund raiser for the fight against Breast Cancer.
The Chargers went 3-3 in pool play before they defeated North Adams-Jerome in the quarterfinals 25-22, 26-24.
Megann Russell had 22 kills for the Chargers while Jordan Chard had 54 assists, Kassandra Kohsmann recorded 15 aces and Jayda Risner had 41 digs.
Union City Coach Ashlee Herman said, “I’m so proud of the way our girls battled today. Playing the day after Homecoming is always a struggle and they pushed through and fought to the end.”
