QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – As part of a five year agreement which has entered its final year, the Quincy Village Council approved a monthly rate increase on Tuesday night for trash and recycling services provided to the village by Republic Services.
The rate that was negotiated at the start of the contract will go up for village residents from $16.74 to $18.22.
Village Manager Brittney Butler said they want to hear from other trash and recycling companies in the coming months.
She pointed out that when the contract started, the monthly cost was $12.57.
Butler is also hoping for improved service from Republic with new management taking over.
She pointed out the Village of Union City recently went with Granger Waste Services. While she said Granger was relatively cheap, Butler is worried Granger doesn’t have enough bins for Quincy.
