John Wayne Pelmear, 80, of Coldwater, passed away Sunday, October 17, 2021 at ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital.
In accordance to his wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family burial will be held at a later date.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
John was born October 26, 1940 in Sturgis, MI to Basil and Etna (Finisy) Pelmear. He attended a country school and went on to graduate from Bronson High School in 1959, where he was a member of the track team and the FFA.
John was employed at Branch County Farm Bureau Oil, known as the “Tire Man” for 28 years until his retirement in 1999. He was a simple man with a heart for nature and above all his life on the family farm.
John made sure to grow and nurture trails just for the wildlife on his farm. He enjoyed fishing on Rose Lake and always looked forward to his trips up north. John was also an avid bowler participating in multiple leagues in Branch County all the way up until his passing.
John is survived by his brother Roy (Ruth) Pelmear, and his nieces & nephews. He is also survived by his extended family Shirley Dennis, Sherry (Mark) Beuerle, Chad (Natalie) and Mabel Beuerle, Kurt (Hillary) and Madelyn Beuerle. Unfortunately, he was not able to meet Madelyn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Ray Pelmear, sister-in-law Sherry Pelmear, and an infant brother and sister.
Memorial donations are suggested to the family, which will be used to benefit Junior Bowlers at Midway Lanes. Monetary donations can be made payable to Sherry Beuerle.
