BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – It’s week number nine of the high school football season in Michigan and the final night of the regular season for Coldwater, Quincy and Union City with the Chargers hoping to extend their season into at least a tenth week.
Coldwater will make the long drive to Livingston County to take on the Pinckney Pirates. The Cardinals are 3-5 while Pinckney is 5-3. The J.V. game starts at 3:00 p.m. with the varsity game at 7:00 p.m.. Coverage here on AM 1590 and FM 95.5 WTVB will start at 6:30 p.m..
The Big 8 and Cascades Conferences cross over games will include Union City at Manchester and Quincy at East Jackson. A win for the 4-4 Chargers would be their third straight and would greatly improve their chances to get into the M.H.S.A.A. playoffs. Right now they are considered to be a “bubble team”. The pairings will be announced by the M.H.S.A.A. at 5:30 p.m. Sunday on Bally Sports Detroit.
Hanover-Horton defeated Bronson 26-22 on Thursday night in a Big 8-Cascades Conference cross over match up. The game was changed to Thursday night due to the lack of officials that are available for Friday night games. The Vikings finished their season at 2-7.
