Kenneth J. Rakocy, 79, of Coldwater, formerly of Bronson, passed away Saturday, October 23, 2021 at his home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, October 28, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary of Assumption Church in Bronson with Rev. Fr. Dan Hyman officiating.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 27, 2021 from 4:00-6:00 p.m., with the Rosary to begin at 6:00 p.m., at Dutcher Funeral Home in Bronson.
Interment will take place, following cremation, at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Ken was born July 1, 1942 in Coldwater, MI to John & Edna (Yesh) Rakocy. He graduated from St. Charles School in 1960 and earned his Associate Degree in Business Administration from Argubright Business College. Ken served in the US Army from 1964 – 1966 and married Nancy Larabee on May 8, 1971 in Bronson.
Mr. Rakocy worked as an accountant for Douglas Autotech for 30 years, retiring in 2004. Ken was a life member of the Knights of Columbus and the Bronson American Legion. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed crossword puzzles and reading.
Ken is survived by his wife Nancy, his children Chad (Kerri) Rakocy of Allen, Chris (CJ) Ransbottom of Bronson, Cindi (Tami Sussex) Rakocy of Coldwater, his siblings Carol (Bob) Edwards of Coldwater, Al Rakocy of Coldwater, his sister-in-law Rose Rakocy of Colon; grandchildren Riley & Jordan Rakocy, Colin and Brayden Ransbottom; step grandchildren Tanner & Zoey Jent and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother Phil Rakocy.
